Chartwell
The best of Severna Park!
Chartwell was developed in the 1960s by brothers Albert and Roger Merritt as a planned, upscale golf course community. They were inspired by their family history and travels through England, to name the community after Sir Winston Churchill's estate, Chartwell, and they borrowed street names from a London map. Over the years, just over 600 homes were built, making Chartwell one of the largest communities in Severna Park.
Today, Chartwell is known for its quiet, tree-lined streets, majestically landscaped yards, and family-friendly community amenities and was awarded
"Most Desirable Community to Reside" in 2023 by the Severna Park Voice.
